The Brief
Our client came to us with a simple ask: “I want to be competitive at Valley Run.” No outlandish builds, no show-car ambitions — just real, repeatable speed from a platform everyone underestimates.
What We Did
The Polo GT TSI is a solid platform if you know where to push. We started with the basics:
- ECU Remap: Custom stage-2 map with optimised boost targets, revised ignition timing, and enriched fuelling curves at peak load. The stock turbo has more in it than most people realise.
- Intake & Exhaust: Replaced the restrictive stock airbox with a cold-air intake and fitted a full 2.5” cat-back exhaust with a high-flow downpipe.
- Suspension: Lowered on adjustable coilovers with stiffer front springs for better weight transfer on launch. Rear anti-roll bar stiffened.
- Tyres: Swapped to semi-slick compound rubber in the stock wheel size. Traction is everything off the line.
The Result
First place, Polo class. Clean launch, no drama, and a time that surprised even us. The car ran consistently through three heats — proof that the tune was stable, not just aggressive.
What It Means
Valley Run is a credibility event. The cars that win there are the cars people trust. For TPC, this podium validates what we’ve always known: the difference isn’t in spending more — it’s in understanding your machine.
We’re already prepping for the next season.
